Victron MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-50 230V combines features of MultiPlus and MultiGrid. External current – transformer option for power control and PowerAssist implementation. The area also includes anti-islanding features and a long list of country approvals.

Eventually, this product was named MultiGrid II. This unit uses all the features of MultiPlus together with an external circuit transformer option for the operation of power controls and automatic storage of the energy with an external circuit. Victron Energy has harnessed the Victron multiplus ii, the ii combines the functions of both multiplus and multigrid making islanding and an increasingly built-in anti-islanding the safest options for batteries today. Having taken all the features of the multiplus and multigrid this battery is exceptional.
Victron MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-50 230V combines the functions of the MultiPlus and the MultiGrid. It has all the features of the MultiPlus, plus an external current transformer option to implement PowerControl and PowerAssist and to optimize self-consumption with external current sensing (max. 32A).

Note: for a short period of time this product was called MultiGrid II.

PowerAssist

The MultiPlus-II will prevent overload of a limited AC source, such as a generator shore power connection. First, battery charging will automatically be reduced when otherwise an overload would occur. The second level will boost the output of a generator or shoreside supply with power taken from the battery.
Monitoring and control options are available for ensuring there is no overload of consumption with external current means this battery will use external current sensing max levels to ensure it doesn’t overload and shut down. This means electronic equipment will continue to run longer than using other brand batteries.

ESS: Energy Storage Systems

The MultiPlus-II is the key component in a Victron ESS system, providing the flexibility to combine with MPPT Solar Chargers or Grid-tie PV Inverters. For examples and more detailed information see the ESS (Energy Storage System) manual.

Uninterrupted AC power (UPS function)

In the event of a grid failure, or when shore or generator power is disconnected, the inverter within the Multi is automatically activated and takes over the supply to the connected loads. This happens so fast (less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic equipment will continue to operate without disruption.
20 milliseconds that computers won’t register won’t change any of your day to day systems to shut down, having your grid-connected at all times ensures the smooth running of computers and other electronic machines, it happens so fast less energy is wasted.

Remote Monitoring and Control

Monitor and control your Multi and system or systems’ locally (LAN) or remotely via the internet from anywhere in the world, using the free VRM app and free VRM portal website. Access can be from a phone, tablet, laptop or PC for multiple operating systems. Three-phase operation means you can always keep tabs on whether the supply is connected and running at all times. This means you can continue to operate without being in the vicinity of the Victron energy multiplus ii.
